2-11 -20 Meeting 

President Lindsey Lenhart called the meeting to order. Attendance total: 17, members-15, other Kiwanis members-2, Bob Kemper/NC, Dick Boardman Iowa. Steve Hess reports Everett Shell is dealing with some  medical issues but hopes to be back soon.  The 50/50 was won by Steve Hess but he did not pull the ace of hearts so jackpot rolls over. 

Our speaker unfortunately had to cancel due to feeling ill and will be rescheduled.

  • On March 17th we won't be able to use our regular meeting location. We'll be at Pine Manor Community Center and have a modified meeting, box lunch and tour of the facility. Address is: 5547 Tenth Ave., Fort Myers 33907 (239-275-5180 day of if you get lost). We'll need to know who is attending on this day by March 10th. More details coming soon. 
  • Our next 5th Tuesday social is March 31. We are hosting DCM April 28th. If you'd like to help with planning of either please let a board member know. 
  • Bring in your old Kiwanis magazine to recycle in our member recruitment folders. 
  • Delicious Dining Book fundraiser is underway, pre-sales orders can be placed now.
    Todd provided updates. Coupon books valid April 15-Nov 15th. Last year we turned a profit, one in which helps us support programs such as Atlas Books and sponsoring Sensory rooms. We now are looking for places that will help us sell the books or put flyers up. 1,300 are being printed. 
  • All runners in BUG run will receive email survey.
  • We will be doing a diaper drive in the off season and looking into Reading is Fundamental grant.
  • March of Dimes is a program that aligns with our Kiwanis mission. It's a program supported by Kiwanis International and in many cities such as Fort Myers. Rachel's family is the Lee County March of Dimes Ambassador Family for 2020.
        Here is how we can support March of Dimes this year:

Oasis Reading/Mentoring (Stewart Ross) weekly  at Orangewood  Elementary on Wednesdays  9:30am-10:10am. Please let Stewart know if you can help. Four volunteers are needed each week. 

MS Support Group(Bill Grant), meets 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church. 

Literacy Buddy  Last book is due to the children April 17th.

Aktion Club -(Karen Hurst) at LARC. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 8:30am, year-round. Bring in clean/used T-shirts for Karen to take as they are making more dog toys. 

CKI Club- at FGCU. (Stewart Ross)  CKI Mentorship-

Key Club-(Harris Segel) Collegiate High on FSW campus. They are holding elections. 24 members.

Builder's Club-(Barbara Hartman, Todd Adams, Ada Trapanese) Cypress Lake Middle. 

K-Kids-(Kim Berghs) Littleton Elementary. Next meeting is Feb. 26th at 2:15pm.
