The Gang Reduction Initiative of Denver (GRID)

Program Spotlight!

10,000+ Denver Public School Students Served

And Honoring Diversion Officer Salma Salazar!

In 2022, the Office of Community Violence Solutions and the Denver District Attorney's Office joined efforts to continue the delivery of The Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program to Denver Public Schools.

G.R.E.A.T. is an evidence-based, national and international gang and violence prevention program that serves as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership. It is a school-based curriculum that is designed for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior.

The G.R.E.A.T. program is a chosen strategy that supports GRID's Prevention Component (Strengthening Families & Communities) for Denver's Gang Violence Reduction Model.

Exciting News - Congratulations, Salma!

Salma has recently been promoted within the District Attorney's Office for the 2nd Judicial District. Her unwavering dedication to enhancing safety and well-being in Denver serves as an exemplary model for our youth.
