Program Updates 

Register for the E-Contractor Training Academy Level 2


Registration for the E-Contractor Training Academy Level 2 is now open! Contractors enrolled in the E-Contractor Training Academy will benefit from the support and guidance offered by technical assistance managers and industry experts. There is no cost to participate, but there is a time investment required.


Contractors must possess a current California Contractors State License Board Contractor License. The E-Contractor Training Academy is designed to prepare small contractors to compete and perform energy efficiency retrofit projects within SoCalREN territory.


The E-Contractor Training Academy Level 2 Includes

  • Introduction to SoCalREN, regional market forecast for energy efficiency projects, and technical training resources.
  • What is needed to bid on energy efficiency projects.
  • What is needed to successfully manage Public Works projects, once awarded.


Overview of Sessions

  • Week 1: Estimating Principles 
  • Week 2: Project Scheduling 
  • Week 3: Principles of Project Management 
  • Week 4: Project Cash Flow Management  
  • Week 5: Project Close Out

SoCalREN Resource Energy Efficiency Learning Center 

Participating Contractors; have you taken advantage of the SoCalREN Energy Efficiency Learning Center (EELC)? Did you know that the EELC is available for you and your staff at no-cost? Participate in e-learning courses at your own pace from the comfort and safety of your home or office. Participating Contractors can access the SoCalREN EELC as a Program benefit at no cost. The EELC offers an expanding catalog of courses in a variety of categories including HVAC, Sales and Marketing, Commercial Energy Efficiency, Continuing Education Units, Building Performance Institute (BPI), Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and North American Technician Excellence (NATE).

 

All these accredited courses can be found in the EELC. Currently, there are more than eighty active courses available. To access these courses, please email the SoCalREN team, and a login will be created for you and any staff members interested in taking advantage of this Program benefit offered by SoCalREN.
