A MESSAGE FROM OUR PROGRAM DIRECTOR
2023 Programming Updates
| |
|
Happy Holidays to you and your families! We wanted to first remind you that as of January 1, 2023, we will no longer be Autism Society Greater Cincinnati. We are leaving the Autism Society of America affiliate network to become a 100% local organization, with your needs as our top focus. Our new name is Autism Connections, which we feel better reflects who we are. You can learn more about this change by visiting autismcincy.org/our-new-name/.
As many of you know, we are working to return some of our programs to in-person, while still maintaining online programming. We are working on balancing both online and in-person to meet more individuals in their most comfortable space. Some of our programs – Women Sharing Together and our Support Group of Black and Brown Families – are going on a hiatus while we evaluate how to best support these groups. You will also notice that we will start charging a nominal fee for our in-person social programs beginning in 2023 in order to cover the cost of running these programs. Those fees are reflected in the program information below.
As we build new programming for 2023, we will be focusing on transition age (13-22) youth, as we have identified a significant need in our community for this age group. Our first focused program will be launching in January. We will be providing PEERS® training for teens and young adults in partnership with Linden Grove School and the Ken Anderson Alliance. There will be more programs targeting our transition age youth in the future.
Please review the information below regarding programming for 2023, and let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to connecting with you in the New Year.
Sincerely,
Hadia Khan
Program Director
