Dear Tavor Community,

Our first priority is always the health and safety of our community members. With the recent developments in the spread of coronavirus , we want to reassure you that our staff and board are working closely with the American Camp Association, federal, state and local health agencies, and our friends and colleagues in Jewish camping, to ensure camper and staff safety in all decisions related to our year-round and summer programming.

While our health team continues to monitor the situation and the recommendations from the CDC to ensure a healthy and safe summer, I’m writing to share an update about our upcoming local ken and Tzedek programming.

While we were very much looking forward to connecting with our camp community at upcoming local events in the Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Chicago areas, out of an abundance of caution, we’ve decided to postpone all scheduled Ken, Tzedek, and Maagal (staff training) events through the end of March 2020.

We’ve decided to err on the side of caution to promote the health and wellness of our campers and staff and to do our part in protecting the greater community and those among us who are most vulnerable. Members of our year-round team will be in touch about opportunities for our campers and staff to connect with one another *virtually* and bring some much needed ruach (spirit) and connection into our lives.

As we approach the end of March, we’ll be back in touch with an update about our year-round and summer programming.

Thank you for your partnership as we work to protect one another during this challenging time.

In peace,
Amit Weitzer
Camp Tavor Executive Director
