New Library Update!

A peek behind the scenes while we're closed!

We are finally moved into 80 Bloomfield and setting up your library to open on Monday, June 29! Take a look:

Top photo: A view as you enter the new space. The front desk welcomes you at the left, the golden entrance to the Children's Corner in the distance. To the right you can just make out our public computer stations, part of The Hub business center. And in the far distance, The Commons.

Bottom photo: Part of the Commons, where our adult collection is located, inviting you with seating, tables, and new shelves in the process of being filled. We can't wait to see you there, browsing and enjoying the new area made just for you, our patrons.

And, programs are back in a big way! Keep scrolling to find out what you can look forward to!

Our Summer Reading Kickoff was a hit!

A Summer Reading celebration!

We were so happy to see so many families at our annual Summer Reading kickoff event, held at the Health and Human Services building. Magician Steve Woyce put on an amazing show, and kids participated in a dinosaur-themed scavenger hunt!

A big thank you to our partners at Health and Human Services for providing an amazing space for this important event. Much appreciation for the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex for their generous support, and the Caldwell Public Library Foundation, whose sponsorship makes our Summer Reading programs happen for Caldwell families each year.

If you missed the event, it is not too late to register your kids (& yourself!) for Summer Reading 2026: Unearth a Story. What does registration get you? Incentive for your child to read all summer long and track their reading progress, participate in fun challenges and earn prizes! Be on the lookout for our Community Scavenger Hunt, a town-wide adventure, starting July 19. Kids who complete their Summer Reading Challenge will get a ticket into this summer's Grand Prize drawing!

The theme this year is dinosaurs, fossils, and archaeology, and our Summer Reading programs are bringing it to life! Scroll down for ALL of what we have in store for you in July!

Programming is back for all ages in our new Community Hall program space!
