New Windhaven Parkway Entrance Ramp to Northbound DNT Opens

Will provide relief during Parker Road entrance ramp long-term closure

The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has opened a new entrance ramp from Windhaven Parkway to northbound Dallas North Tollway (DNT). Drivers will be charged the TollTag rate of 45 cents to enter DNT at that point.

The new ramp will provide improved access to the DNT and congestion relief on Dallas Parkway (the DNT frontage road) as NTTA closes the current northbound Parker Road entrance ramp for
long-term construction. The new Parker Road entrance ramp will be reconfigured to improve traffic flow and reopened later this year.

Also, the Windhaven entrance ramp to southbound DNT is scheduled to be closed this week and will reopen in a new configuration later this year.

This work is part of significant improvements to the DNT, which will include an additional lane in each direction. A northbound lane will be added between Trinity Mills Road and the Sam Rayburn Tollway, and a southbound lane will be added between the Sam Rayburn Tollway and the Belt Line Road exit.

Work on the project is scheduled to be completed in early 2018, weather permitting.

NTTA Building in Addison to Be Demolished This Week

Crews working for North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) will demolish a building just south of Keller Springs Road on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) in Addison beginning this week. This work will take about 10 days from start to finish and will occur only during daytime hours.

The left lane of southbound Dallas Parkway (the DNT frontage road) between Keller Springs and Arapaho Roads will be closed Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For the last two months, crews have worked to prepare the eastbound portion of the Tennyson Parkway bridge over the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) for demolition. Weather permitting, this work is scheduled for the end of March.

The demolition will require a full weekend closure of about two miles on the DNT main lanes between Spring Creek Parkway and the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

Last June, crews demolished the westbound portion of the bridge at Tennyson Parkway. Since then, crews have replaced it with a wider bridge, which spans the additional lanes being built on the Tollway below.
