Texas Health Impact: Year 2 at a Glance

Dear Ron,

May 1, 2025

Thanks to your support—and with major funding from ViiV Healthcare and additional support for Dallas County from The Dallas Foundation—the Texas Health Impact Cohort is advancing the fight against HIV/AIDS in LGBTQ+ communities across Texas. In 2024 alone, grantees reached more than 19,000 individuals, a 7.5% increase over Year 1. Across just two years, nearly 37,000 people living with or vulnerable to HIV have accessed care, education, and advocacy.

Now operating as Texas Pride Community Foundation, we remain committed to being the LGBTQ+ community foundation for Texas—supporting the people, places, and programs often overlooked but never forgotten.

Your impact is especially felt in communities that are too often left behind. Among those reached, 46% identified as Black/African American and 31% as Latinx, underscoring the urgent need to center equity in this work.

What excites us most is the innovative spirit driving our cohort’s collective efforts. These organizations are pioneering new, community-rooted approaches—recognizing that lasting progress requires bold, multifaceted solutions.

Together, we’re not just fighting a disease—we’re working to end an epidemic. And we’re doing it by uplifting those most affected and most often overlooked. Stay tuned as we continue to support and amplify this groundbreaking work, driving change across Texas and beyond.

The Power of Connection

Thanks to you, the first in-person convening of the Texas Health Impact Cohort created a space for connection, learning, and shared purpose. Over two days, participants exchanged ideas, celebrated progress, and deepened their leadership. Highlights included sessions with ViiV Healthcare’s D’Metris Welters, our own Míchél Macklin, and Ian L. Haddock of the Normal Anomaly, all focused on reducing stigma and amplifying community voices.

Attendees left inspired, informed, and ready to drive change across Texas.

Looking Ahead: Year 3 of the Cohort

Because of your continued generosity, 11 organizations are now entering Year 3 of this transformative initiative. With ViiV Healthcare’s partnership and your commitment to equity, these grassroots leaders are expanding access, building networks, and advocating for lasting change.

Together, we’re supporting historically underfunded LGBTQ+ communities and fueling innovative, community-driven solutions that close gaps in HIV care. Click the image below to meet the 11 grantees whose work you’re making possible.
