CHANGE YOU CAN SEE

Old Black Colony Road & FM 1626 Traffic Signal

Crews installing the signal pole infrastructure for the upcoming traffic signal.

The new traffic signal at FM 1626 and Old Black Colony Road will begin flashing yellow on Tues., December 16. The flashing phase is used to alert drivers to the presence of a new signal and to give crews time to monitor and calibrate the equipment before the signal is fully activated. The signal is expected to be fully activated on Tues., January 6. Travelers are asked to drive with caution while navigating through the new traffic signal.

We want to thank the public for their patience as we worked to push this traffic signal to completion. We know how much this signal means to our community and we are happy to see it come to fruition.

Eastside Park Master Planning

We are looking for feedback on which amenities the public would like to see at the future Eastside Park location off Hillside Terrace. We invite you to review the concepts and share your feedback through our quick, 5-minute online survey. Your input will help shape the future of this park.

The Eastside Park survey will be available through Wed., December 31 at www.budabonds.com.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Middle Creek Drive Rehabilitation

During the regular City Council meeting on Tues., December 2, the Buda City Council voted to approve the bid and award the contract for this project to D&S Concrete Contractors, LLC. The project is moving forward following extensive geotechnical analysis and neighborhood engagement, bringing this long-anticipated drainage and roadway improvement closer to construction.

Construction will begin in January 2026 to avoid interruptions for residents during the holiday season.

RM 967 West Sidewalk

Easement acquisition continues along RM 967, with agreements reached for three of the four required properties. Once the final easement is secured, the project team will move forward with finalizing design and preparing the project for bidding.

Overpass Road & FM 2001

TxDOT has approved the removal of the three-way stop at Overpass Road and FM 2001 once the new signal at Overpass Road and Firecracker Drive is installed. Work is also underway to secure approvals for emergency flashing signage to alert drivers to fire station traffic.
