Project Updates and Milestones

What to Expect: Geotechnical Work

Geotechnical engineering work is anticipated to begin in April for the West Goforth Road and Old Black Colony Road projects. What is geotechnical work? This type of work evaluates things like soils, rock, groundwater, and other earth materials to identify and prevent potential complications before, during, and after construction.

Drill rigs similar to the one pictured are common during this phase of work and will likely be in and around the project limits of West Goforth and Old Black Colony Roads. We remind you to keep your eyes on the road and slow down if you see our crews in the ROW!

SH 45 Gap Study

On February 21, Buda City Council voted to contribute $500,000 from the 2021 Bond Prop A funding to the Hays County SH 45 Gap Feasibility Study. The County is leading the effort with participation from the City of Buda.
