Green Meadows Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Saturday, July 29

From 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Help us celebrate the completion of the Green Meadows Park Pavilion! This special occasion marks a significant milestone for the Buda Bonds Prop B Parks and Recreation projects. Come chat with the team and enjoy free snow cones!

Cullen Country Subdivision Welcome Summer Event

Upcoming Meetings: Buda Bond Oversight Committee (BBOC)

The BBOC will hold their next meeting on August 21 at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. BBOC meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to join us to learn more about the 2021 Buda Bonds projects!

Project Updates and Milestones

Main Street East Extension

The Main Street East Extension Project is now a part of the Buda Bonds Prop A Transportation projects! In March, the Buda City Council approved this decision and has recently awarded the contract to WSB. This project will improve mobility and safety on Main Street between IH 35 and Firecracker Drive.

Garison Park

The design consultant (TELA) is currently in the schematic design phase for Garison Park. The design plans were completed and sent to the consultant on June 30. The schematic design package will be submitted to the city in mid-July for review.

Onion Creek Trail

Survey Work: Data was collected for Onion Creek Trail to prep for preliminary design. The consultant began design work this month.

Garlic Creek Trail & Old Black Colony Road

Geotechnical engineering work was completed for Garlic Creek Trail and Old Black Colony Road. Additional updates on these projects include:

Garlic Creek Trail - The design consultant is currently designing the trail and proposed bridge.
Old Black Colony Road - The design consultant is currently revising preliminary alternatives.

We have a dedicated team working diligently to bring the $89 million Buda Bonds Projects to life. We are delighted to show you the remarkable individuals who make up to Buda Bonds Oversight Committee! For several months, we will shine a spotlight on a different team member and their unique journey. Get to know the people who are making an impact in our community.

Meet Wendy Scott

Wendy is a member of the BBOC and Paralegal for Collins Ostrom PLLC! Buda has been Wendy’s home for almost 30 years, where she enjoys exploring different shops downtown and taking her grandchildren to the beautiful parks.

Wendy’s dedication to building a strong community and identifying projects that represent residents’ voice is reflected through her work in the BBOC. Outside of work, Wendy loves to spend time with her family, take walks, explore parks in Texas, and put together puzzles!

With her love of parks and the outdoors, Wendy is excited to be a part of the City Park and Garison Park projects on Buda Bonds.

Fun Fact: Wendy works with a group at her church, providing donations for Operation Christmas Child!

Other Updates

Construction on West Goforth Road

On Monday, July 10, construction work started for the Goforth utilities crossing as part of the Stream Buda Industrial project in the Goforth neighborhood. As a result, West Goforth was reduced to one lane for a week. This process will also be repeated on the other side. Remember to keep your eyes on the road and slow down for construction crews directing traffic!
