Season's greetings! As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your support in making a green difference in 2024. We are grateful for our Project Green Schools students, schools, partners, and supporters (including you!) whose support has been integral in scaling our impact, expanding our reach, and achieving new milestones this year.

Project Green Schools was thrilled to host our second Innovating for the Future competition at the Boston University Center for Computing & Data Sciences in November!
We had a fantastic group of 13 teams compete from across Massachusetts. Each of our competing teams brought their A-game, showcasing their creativity, innovation, and STEM skills to provide inspiring, thoughtful, and solutions-focused presentations to our planet's environmental challenges.
The commitment and enthusiasm of our student teams truly made this event a resounding success!

Earlier this month, Project Green Schools was delighted to attend Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's Annual Rhode Island Energy, Environment, and Oceans Leaders Day featuring Senator Jack Reed, Senator Ron Wyden, Congressman Seth Magaziner, Congressman Gabe Amo, and others.

This year, our National Youth Council members had several opportunities to engage in high-level environmental discussions, including attending the U.S. EPA’s first National Environmental Youth Advisory Council meeting in Washington, D.C., speaking at the 8th NYC Green School Conference in New York for Climate Week, and participating in the United Nations Summit of the Future Action Days! | |
Outdoor Classroom Challenge: $20,000 Awarded to Schools in 2024 | |
Project Green Schools was pleased to recognize three winners in the 2024 Outdoor Classroom Challenge, awarding $20,000 this year to help empower schools to create outdoor spaces that enhance learning and connect students with nature. | |

This year, we moved our annual Green Difference Awards from the Massachussetts State House to Washington, D.C. Project Green Schools was thrilled to celebrate our Green Difference Award winners at the 16th Annual Green Difference Awards hosted at the U.S. Department of Energy! | |
New for 2025: Clean Automotive Technology Center of Excellence | |
We are thrilled to team up with Brockton High School to advance clean energy education and career training! Earlier this year, PGS, Brockton High School, and partners were awarded $900k by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to advance electric vehicle education as part of the school's new Clean Automotive Technology Center of Excellence. | |
