Dear Friends,

I am always humbled when I think about how far we’ve come. I’m also proud to share our progress with new and old friends. Among those is Governor Gavin Newsom’s Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Secretary Lourdes Castro Ramírez, whose visionary leadership helped make Homekey sites like Project Legacy possible across the state. She made time in her busy schedule to visit us in Riverside and I thanked her personally for her path breaking work. I was nearly brought to tears seeing how authentically she engaged with some of our clients who shared how important our new campus is to them. She asked one of our clients if he was enjoying living at our new Marsha P. Johnson House. He said, “I don’t like it…I LOVE it!” I beamed with pride.

As you know, this is an important year for us; it’s the year we open the doors to Project Legacy and welcome our clients into transitional housing. We hope you will join us in sponsoring our launch event on June 30th and help us continue to raise critical resources to support our work!

I also had an opportunity to chat with the Inland Empire’s NPR Station about Project Legacy and our work more broadly. It is always a pleasure when I’m able to introduce new folks to our work.

Take a look below to see what we’ve been up to!

Housing Secretary Lourdes Castro Ramírez Visits Project Legacy

Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Secretary Lourdes Castro Ramírez visited Project Legacy this month and we could not be more thrilled!

Her work has expanded solutions to homelessness in every corner of the state and is responsible for our own Project Legacy campus. We appreciate her taking the time to see our progress up close, meet our clients, and learn more about our work. Thank you, Secretary!

Riverside County Supervisor Kevin Jeffries Tours Project Legacy

Among our special VIPs to visit our construction site is Riverside County Supervisor Kevin Jeffries. Supervisor Jeffries met with our staff and toured our site to learn more about the transitional housing services we will be providing to our constituents.

Thank you for visiting us, Supervisor!

NPR/KVCR Goes In-Depth on Project Legacy and TruEvolution

KVCR’s Lifestyles with Lilian Vasquez invited us to discuss the work we do daily to uplift LGBTQ+ folks living in the Inland Empire. We covered a range of issues including Project Legacy and how this transformative campus will provide housing, healthcare, and job training services.

First Cohort of Project Legacy Clients

Our first residents at Project Legacy have moved in! Although our campus is still under construction, we are elated that we were able to complete the Marsha P. Johnson and Rev. Benita Ramsey homes to provide housing for our clients.
