We are responding to recent objection letters and petitions filed with the City in connection with the Cargill railyard project.
On January 20, 2021 Cargill hosted a virtual town hall meeting with neighbors to discuss design options for landscaping and screening. This meeting is one of several preconstruction and post construction meetings that Cargill will hold with neighbors, as required by their Development Agreement for purchasing the Stewart Road property.
Presentation materials can be found on the City’s project website:
There are no further City Council actions anticipated at this time, as Cargill’s proposed changes to the zoning and Future Land Use Map (FLUMA) were voted on in 2019.
The upcoming project timeline includes Cargill closing on the Stewart Road property on February 26 and starting construction in April.
This schedule may be impacted by:
- Plan approval – City has not received or reviewed construction plans at this time.
- Whether Cargill changes their schedule while awaiting the results of a court appeal, contesting the zoning and FLUMA.
- Decision of the court appeal.
