Greetings!
Maria is fond of long ago things, ways, and words that are rarely used, done, or spoken in conversations today. When a word fades into history, so can its knowledge fade.
We designed Project Pack No. 05, to apply the Zentangle Method to the art of adorning photos, letters, memorabilia, and ephemera. To describe adorning these long ago treasures with beautiful tangled frames and borders, Maria chose a long-ago word: c
artouche
. A cartouche is a decorative frame surrounding an image or an inscription. It also refers to the oblong figure that encloses a sovereign's name on ancient Egyptian monuments.
Today, we bring back this lovely word to describe our approach to using the Zentangle Method to create ornate frames and borders.
We are pleased to introduce Zentangle Project Pack No. 05 . . .

Project Pack No. 05 -
Zentangle Cartouches
|
|
Project Pack No. 05 was inspired by the lost art of preserving or enhancing life's special memories.
This Project Pack has all the supplies you will need to follow along with us as you adorn your most post precious keepsakes.
Gather up your treasured photographs, trinkets, stamps, tickets, coins, spoons, memorabilia and jewelry and showcase them in beautiful Zentangle displays. Create the perfect gifts for family and friends.
Together, we will explore fun, and "outside-the-box" ideas on how to mount and "frame" your treasures using Zentangle inspired techniques. Multiple video tutorials will guide you through the use of the Project Pack contents. Each video will demonstrate a different way to create illuminations and borders. . . and perhaps a dingbatz or two.
We will take simple tangles and use them in unexpected ways. We will work with different ways to mount photos and objects. Then we will play with auras, tangle enhancers, and creative shading techniques to bring special focus to some of your most meaningful possessions.

A heart-felt Project Pack...how cool is that?
Start collecting some items you may like to use when we release these Project Pack videos beginning on April 12th. Think smaller items … give or take between 1 to 4 inches (2.5 to 10.5 cm).
We look forward to creating many Zentangle Cartouches with all of you.
