All patterns are created using a system of creating a design or image component and then repeating it in some sort of way to create a new image. The Zentangle Method studies types of patterns and breaks them down into simple steps that can be hand drawn. We call these patterns "tangles". Within our world of tangles, we often separate them into categories. One of the more traditional categories that gets lots of attention is grid tangles. There are all sorts of grid tangles, and we often use them in very untraditional ways.

In this project pack, we dive into the world of grid tangles and take a closer look at the system we use within the Zentangle Method to create them. Join us as we put our Zentomological caps on, to collect and investigate grid tangles using a very special custom item made for this tangled mission.

Videos for Zentangle Project Pack No. 27 will be released via our website and newsletter every other day beginning August 8th, 2025.

Over the past twenty years we have watched the Zentangle Method grow from a dream-like idea to a worldwide phenomenon that has touched countless lives. There are so many stories, thoughts, lessons, traditions and so on that we have collected along the way. One of our earliest traditions was the incorporation of a twenty-sided die and accompanying legend card. This was added to eliminate the roadblock of not knowing what to tangle next and to inspire challenges and ideas. For years this was a staple in our original kit. In 2020 we created Project Pack No.10 around this theme and last year we continued the story of the Zentangle Legend with The Legends of Zentangle Collection Box.

Today we are introducing the third installment of the series, The Legend of Organic Tangles.

Inside you will find an organic tangle themed story and two legend cards paired with complimenting tools and tiles. Enjoy digging into the history of this category. Learn and study about how organic tangles connect us to nature and can bring our tiles to life. Use these legend cards to teach and inspire you to use organic tangles in ways you may have never imagined.

Zentangle Project Pack No. 09: Spring Has Sprung

Twenty-one years ago, in July 2004, Rick and Maria gave their first public Zentangle workshop. Therefore, we have designated July 15 as the International Day of Zentangle - IDOZ!

In gratitude and celebration, for the second consecutive year, tanglers from around the world are invited to join Rick and Maria to tangle together on YouTube Livestream on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10am EDT. We will update our website with more information and send the link to join us live by newsletter.

Last year we had over 3,000 tanglers join us from all over the world and at all hours of the day and night. How many can we get this year?

Join the worldwide Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT®) community! We would be delighted to welcome you in person October 19-22, 2025 in Mystic, Connecticut, USA OR join the live stream as an online student October 20-22, 2025 for an immersive Zentangle experience.

CZT 43 is presented in English and will be the only CZT seminar hosted by Zentangle, Inc in 2025. These events do tend to fill to capacity, so we recommend registering early.
