Message From the President

This year marks Project QUEST’s 30th anniversary. Since its founding, QUEST established the principles of being mission-driven, participant-centric and outcome-focused.  These enduring principles are true today as they were thirty years ago. We are extremely grateful to the key stakeholders who invested and championed Project QUEST over these thirty years. Two organizations at the top of that list are the Citizens Organized for Public Service (COPS/METRO) and the City of San Antonio (CoSA). Today, the continued work of COPS/METRO and COSA have ushered in a new era of workforce development in San Antonio defined as SA Ready to Work.

This ambitious and challenging initiative is a collaborative effort by more than twenty agencies tasked with strengthening and enhancing the workforce skills throughout the San Antonio community. Project QUEST is honored to serve as one of the prime service providers for SA Ready to Work. The program launched in May and I am proud to report that Project QUEST has already enrolled 71 participants. Project QUEST’s foundational principles are enduring and drive our commitment to the success of SA Ready to Work. We are just getting started! If you are interested in learning more about Project QUEST’s services or the SA Ready to Work program please visit www.questsa.org.

Stay cool this summer!                                    David Zammiello, President & CEO

On the first day of April, Project QUEST was excited to join other regional partners and the City of San Antonio as we got ready to implement the one of kind SA: Ready to Work job training program. Thanks to the overwhelming support of San Antonio voters, a significant investment will be made over several years to give thousands of individuals education and training leading to in-demand, high wage jobs.

Project QUEST was excited to host a staff and Board of Directors mixer prior to our 2nd quarter Board meeting. We welcomed three new Board members and reviewed our highlights and accomplishments half way through our year.

QUEST Celebrations

As a participant centered non-profit; our staff play a pivotal role in every aspect of our program and delivery of service. At our recent meeting, we celebrated Erika's 10 Year Anniversary. Key to our culture is our long term staff who have been with us through our growth. The future of QUEST also looks bright as is evident with our 1 year anniversary staff: Covell and Laura.

Every day, we stand with all members of our community and take pride in our work to advocate for economic equity.

QUEST is showing appreciation for all nurses. Thank you for working so hard to keep everyone safe.

Project QUEST recently launched a new initiative called the Alumni. Continued. Education. (ACE) Series! In our continued effort to serve our QUESTers, the ACE Series will be a collection of sessions specifically for our Alumni continuing the commitment Project QUEST made to them when they first started on their education journey with us. Thank you to the Alumni who came to our first ACE Series and thank you to Justin Lindstrom for teaching the first class! It’s been great to reconnect with our Alumni!

Congratulations to all our Graduates! After a nearly 2 year pause, QUEST celebrated our VIP Recognition Ceremony and everyone was excited to enjoy a grand show from Lanier High School’s Mariachi Orgullo de San Antonio. Thank you Dr. Stella Lovato, Vice President for College Services San Antonio College along with Sister Pearl Ceasar, Superior General Congregation of Divine Providence for sharing your inspiring messages with us.
