2025 YD, Parenting, School Health & FNSP Provider Survey Now Live

The Children’s Trust launched a Provider Survey this week and is asking for feedback that will help it strengthen supports and strategically plan to improve Trust-funded programs. If you are the primary program contact for a Youth Development, Parenting, School Health or FNSP program, please check your email for your initiative specific survey invitation and submit one response per contract. Plan accordingly with your team to submit one response per contract by August 18. The Trust relies upon your constructive and thoughtful feedback to help improve our offerings.

Project RISE Celebrates 20th Anniversary *

Project RISE is proud to announce our 20th Anniversary! They are celebrating with an updated logo, a new website, and updated courses in Trust Academy LMS. 

Their website may be new, but their web address is the same. Check out the new request assistance form that allows Trust-funded Youth Development providers to request coaching support, live trainings, and offer suggestions for new peer learning topics.

They have also created a photo gallery of their work, staff, graduate assistants, and some of the many provider staff they have worked with over the past 20 years.

Project RISE was the first Trust Academy partner to upload a course into the Trust Academy LMS. Now, in their 20th year of working with providers and The Children’s Trust, the time has come for a makeover, and they will be updating many of their courses over the upcoming year. Thank you to the many providers who have given them feedback over the last year to help them improve our courses.

You will find new features like playback speed for those of you who would like to go through the courses faster or slower, closed captioning, and some content updates based on their coaching team’s experiences at programs and your feedback. Three of their most popular courses have already been updated, and you can experience them now on Trust Academy LMS:

Early Beginnings Academy

This week, we’re proud to highlight Early Beginnings Academy (EBA), a specialized academic experience providing educationally-relevant therapeutic services to children with disabilities ages Pre-K to 5th grade. EBA serves children with special needs, located in the heart of the Civic Center health district of Miami. EBA educates students from a range of communities throughout Miami and specializes in creating a unique experience for our students and their families. Their mission is driven by family partnerships and culturally responsive practices designed to inspire creativity and curiosity and celebrate individual differences. EBA provides a culturally responsive and compassionate school community designed to inspire creativity and curiosity, advance self-advocacy, and prepare children to be contributing and successful members of our community.

Free Pediatric EKG Screenings for Kids 5-21 *

Free pediatric EKG screenings are being offered by the City of Miami and Nicklaus Children's Hospital for kids ages 5-21. Please share the information with those you serve.

The screenings take place Monday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Juan Pablo Duarte Park. Students planning to play sports this school year are required to get an EKG as they can detect hidden heart issues that may cause Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

In order to get the EKGs, students must be registered by August 8 by 8 a.m. No late signups will be accepted. Please call 305-960-5110 for more information.

Catalyst Miami Recruiting for CLEAR Program

Miami is ground zero for climate change threats and housing unaffordability–each year record breaking heat temps, increasing utility prices, climate gentrification, new developments displacing longtime residents... BUT, together the community can make lasting change for the most pressing issues!

CLEAR (Community Leadership on the Environment, Advocacy, and Resilience) program starting Tuesday, August 26

The 10-week CLEAR program provides participants with the groundwork to become climate justice educators, leaders, and innovators in their own communities and beyond. Participants will develop a deep and intersectional understanding of climate science, local climate change threats, and solutions.

Dates: Tuesdays - August 26- October 28, Times: 6 - 9 p.m.

Performing Arts Funding Grant Program

ETC supports the arts throughout the United States by awarding cash grants to non-profit performance groups. Grants are modest and limited to a maximum of $5,000 in order to distribute funding to a greater number of worthy organizations. Preference is given to organizations producing their own work rather than to hosting venues. Applying and meeting qualifications does not guarantee an award. The Committee typically receives many more applications than can be funded. ETC may partially fund any application at its discretion.

Eligibility Requirements:

To apply for funding, applicants must be based in the United States and meet one of the following:

A 501(c)(3) non-profit residing in the United States. Accredited public or private school/university residing in the United States. Florida Foster Care Review (FFCR) advances the safety, stability and success of youth and young adults involved in Miami-Dade’s dependency system by connecting them to essential services, healthy relationships and forever families. Community Grants Administrator

The Community Grants Administrator is responsible for the general administration of the Community Engagement and Outreach grants program and maintenance of the Community Engagement budget and reporting, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Community Engagement. Work performed by the Community Grants Administrator includes monitoring contracts, agreements, scopes of work, deliverables, purchase orders and preparing reports for the Community Engagement Department, Communications Department and executive management. The incumbent has latitude to make informed decisions and recommendations on the internal and external process of the community grants program. 

Program Manager

The position manages the full life cycle of assigned funded program(s) and services located throughout Miami-Dade County. This person requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings) and reliable transportation. This professional position will support the Programs Management Team in implementing strategies that foster collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure services are delivered in accordance with The Children’s Trust standards and latest evidence-based practices. S/he is responsible for utilizing change management, knowledge, skills, and behaviors to promote continuous quality improvement throughout the assigned contracts and projects. This person will be assigned a caseload of contracts and may serve as initiative/project lead.
