Two Model Schools

Thanks to the Collaboration between

Carnevali Foundation and Chay Ya Nepal

The development of the Dhrubatara Carnevali School in Chapali and the Shree Tarebhir School in Tarebhir stands as a testament to the strong and trusting cooperation between Chay Ya Nepal and the Carnevali Foundation, a partnership that began in 2019.

Since then, we have continued to fund transformative education projects in Nepal, while Chay Ya Nepal has carried them out with deep community engagement and technical expertise. Together, we have created safe and opportunity-rich learning spaces that advance Giuseppe and Jackie’s educational vision and uplift hundreds of children in Nepal.

Old Tarebhir Classroom

Perched in the hills outside Kathmandu, Shree Tarebhir School has recently been expanded and now features a newly built three-story building complete with a library, computer lab and science lab. The area poses unpredictable challenges in the construction process that arise as a result of earthquakes, rockslides and washed-out roads. Over the years, Chay Ya has expertly developed many strategies to successfully cope with these difficult conditions.

New Tarebhir School Building

The updated school facilities have opened doors for children up to grade 10, reducing long commutes and giving students access to quality education close to home.

The school has quickly become a cornerstone of its community, offering a safe, supportive environment for over 120 students and fostering academic growth, confidence, and opportunity.

Dhrubatara Carnevali Secondary

Once severely damaged in the 2015 earthquake, Dhrubatara Carnevali Secondary School has been rebuilt into a modern, safe and vibrant learning environment. It is now serving over 600 students, offering both general education and advanced technical pathways.

Bright and Well-equipped New Classrooms

The Carnevali Technical School, located on the upper floors, provides students with practical training in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Hotel Management. With modern laboratories, hands-on learning and on-the-job training opportunities, the school is now a leading center for technical education in the Kathmandu Valley.

A Big Welcome for the School's Visitors

In November 2025, Doris Bauer-Böckle, a long-time board member of Chay Ya Austria visited the two Carnevali schools in Nepal. She was left deeply impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, the remarkable progress made, and the strong commitment shown by everyone involved. The conversations with teaching staff and the time spent with students highlighted the transformative community impact these model schools are having.

Visits like these reaffirm the synergetic impact of the long-standing cooperation between Chay Ya Nepal and the Carnevali Foundation, strengthening the two organizations’ shared mission to uplift rural communities through high-quality education. Through this partnership, students gain access to resources, opportunities, and support that help create lasting pathways to success for generations to come.
