Dear Owners,
With the Long Range Plan vote over, the hard work begins. The HOA Board will discuss recommendations in a special session soon for moving forward. Those recommendations will include the establishment of a Project Steering Committee (PSC) composed of up to 7 homeowners whose job it will be to, but is not limited to, establish a Project Management Office; create, fill and manage ad hoc task forces on Architecture & Design for the Clubhouse, Fitness Center, and Courts, plus community infrastructure, and communications; and negotiate contracts and agreements for execution as authorized under the community governing documents.
The objectives of the PSC will be to:
- Ensure a timely, organized and effective transition from the planning/conceptual stage to implementation
- Establish organizational infrastructure and processes to ensure accountability to Homeowners and financial partners
- Leverage the experiences and expertise of Community members
- Ensure substantive involvement from third party experts in Architectural & Engineering, construction and communications in all program/project activities and components
- Represent the best interests of the Community as a whole
- Successfully complete the Plan/Program on-time and on-budget
This will be a multi-year commitment requiring the sharing of considerable time, talent and energy in a team and consensus-oriented environment. The skill sets needed are:
- Experience leading/managing large multi-faceted construction projects
- Marketing/ Communications expertise
- Big picture orientation with the ability to translate to reality with appropriate details
- Team and consensus building orientation
- Real estate project management skills that translate to working with architects, engineers, and general contractors
- Leadership skills to effectively manage ad hoc teams
- Goal setting ability
- Open mind about Project components and ability to listen to others
- A positive, group-oriented attitude and willingness to share time, talent and energy
