This Sunday, a Message on First Impressions
Do you ever feel as though your Christian faith has grown stale ... that you are withering on the vine and not flourishing in His service? This Sunday, we're studying Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, which serves as the perfect remedy for such a feeling. Its focus on encouragement provides water for the thirsty soul. It provides hope in the midst of suffering or uncertainty. We hope you'll join us Sunday for this special message on First Impressions.
New Leadership for Children First
After 10 years of service, Jaime Grant is leaving HFUMC's Children First program in order to be closer to her children and grandchild. Sherry Coffman, who has been the assistant director since 2012, will be taking over as the new director.

Please see the message from Jaime and join us in praying for her and Sherry as they begin these new chapters.
Dear HFUMC,

It is with a heavy heart that I feel it is time to say goodbye to HFUMC and Children First Preschool. My husband and I are planning on a move to Omaha, NE, to be near our grandbaby and family in the coming months. I have been offered a position, based out of Omaha, that will allow me to work from home while this transition happens, and I can continue when we are moved. My last day at the preschool will be on Friday, June 18.

I have enjoyed my time here so much, and I am going to miss everyone. These past 10 years have helped me grow so much in my faith as well as my professional career. HFUMC will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all of your support over the years. I look forward to seeing this church grow, and I know I am leaving the preschool is great hands with Ms. Sherry Coffman as the new Director.

Faith, Family, Freedom is BACK!
Our Faith, Family, Freedom event is coming back this summer, and we are so excited! We hope you'll join us July 3, for a night of faith, family, fun and a celebration of our freedom. We are also looking for folks to join our hospitality team that evening. Click the link to sign up.
Let's Love on a Neighbor: The Grace Place has a new Graduate!
Monday, June 14, a Grace Place graduate and her children will be moving into their own place! We have an opportunity to show them Christ's love and help make this day extra special for this family by getting their apartment ready for them (moving furniture, decorating, etc.). If you would like to help, contact Mary Nell Veazey (615) 351-7384 to join the move-in crew. Setup will begin setup at 10:30am.

We also want to share a special thank you for your continued support with our ImpACT partners. Because of your love and generosity, we were able to purchase a bed, mattress, end tables, lamps, and more for this family. Your gifts matter, and they are making a big difference in many lives.
Praise! 1,500 Meals Packed for 300 Kids
The second week of our Summer Food Program was as big a success as the first! Our awesome team of volunteers packed 1,500 food bags and distributed them to kids at three apartment complexes in Hendersonville. We are so appreciative of the support our congregation has shown this new outreach initiative. And there is still plenty of opportunity to help; we particularly need help delivering the food! The next opportunity to serve is next Wednesday, June 16, by helping deliver the food. Check out some pictures from this week, and then scroll down to click the link to sign up and help.
Project Transformation Needs Summer Help
This summer, HFUMC is again assisting young students with their reading skills through Project Transformation, a community-oriented after-school and summer literacy and enrichment programming for children and youth in low-income neighborhoods.

Our goal is to provide 8-10 virtual volunteers each day, July 6, 7, and 8, from 9:45am - 12:15pm, and to have these positions filled by June 21.

Important to note, this is NOT “in person” as it has been in years past. While the students will be at Matthews Memorial, our participation will be virtual (so you can even stay in your pajamas!). You will read a book and participate in an activity with the students. Each session will last about 45 minutes.

Volunteers must be 16 and older, and everyone over the age of 18 must have a background check completed (if you've had one in the past four years, it will be accepted).

You can volunteer for one, two, or all three days. Click the link below to learn more and register.
Onward Summer Programs for HFUMC Kids and Youth
This summer, we have two awesome opportunities for HFUMC Kids (K - 6th grade) and our Youth (7th grade and up). Both events share the same mission: for our students to LEARN about their faith, understand how to LIVE as Christian Disciples, so that they may go out and CHANGE the world.
