Greetings!
Eversource’s contractor BOND Civil & Utility Construction and their subcontractors (ET&L Construction, M-O-N Landscaping Inc., and Moosehead LLC) resumed activities on the 115 kilovolt (kV) Underground Transmission Line Project this week. The schedule calls for construction from Monday to Friday for the next several weeks. Construction is not expected to interrupt electric service. This project was designed to enhance the reliability of the electric grid serving the area.
Brianna Germain, from the Eversource Project Outreach team, is hosting Office Hours tomorrow (December 8), from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., at the Sudbury Police Department Training Room (75 Hudson Road). Please reply to this message if you are interested in attending and learning more about the Project.
Work Hours
Approved work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday but crews are working from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional work may extend beyond the approved hours, due to unforeseen conditions, based on feedback from municipal officials.
Below is a summary of the active and upcoming work areas in Hudson and Sudbury.
Hudson
-
In the inactive Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) rail corridor, crews have completed clearing vegetation. Between Wilkins Street and Parmenter Road, crews will be installing erosion controls (silt fencing) to the limits of work. From Parmenter to the Town line, crews are removing rails and ties and will start grading work areas, which includes the removal of soils, in two weeks.
-
Off Forest Avenue, one crew is continuing to install a small section of duct bank on Hudson Light & Power (49 Forest Avenue) property, moving south from the recently installed vault (MH1) to the Hudson Substation. Pictured below is an image from this work zone in Hudson.
Sudbury
-
In the inactive MBTA rail corridor, initial clearing of vegetation is expected to start in several weeks, starting at the Town line, and moving west toward the Sudbury Substation (163 Boston Post Road). Erosion controls will be added to the limits of work afterward.

Off Boston Post Road, at the Eversource Sudbury Substation, G. Greene Construction, another Eversource contractor, is making upgrades to electrical equipment inside the Substation. G. Greene Construction is excavating foundations and moving earth to accommodate new equipment. Construction activities for this portion of the Project are within the fence line of the Substation and on Eversource property.
