Project Update: Beach View Park Improvements

Notice Date: Monday, February 23, 2026

Project Overview & Benefits

Beginning on Monday, March 2, 2026, the City of Miami Beach will initiate a series of improvements to Beach View Park, located at 5301 Collins Avenue. These enhancements are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to upgrade public spaces and provide residents with safe and accessible recreational amenities.

The project includes replacing the existing playground furniture and exercise equipment, installing new landscaping and upgraded irrigation systems, adding outdoor furnishings, and laying new pavers throughout the park. In addition to these elements, the scope also encompasses a variety of general park improvements intended to enhance the park’s overall functionality and aesthetics.

What's Happening?

The city has already initiated preparations for construction related to the planned park improvements. The contractor began tagging trees designated for removal or relocation on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Additional pre-construction activities include, equipment mobilization, site preparations, and the installation of temporary safety fencing around designated work areas.

For the safety of residents and visitors, the park will remain closed for the duration of the construction phase. Temporary fencing and signage will be in place to secure the site until all improvements are completed.

Please note that the shade structure is not shown in the renderings, as the project will use the existing structure.

Timeline

The city is in the process of finalizing the project schedule, with construction currently anticipated to begin on Monday, March 2, 2026. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please know that construction is expected to take approximately 8 months to complete, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
