What's Happening 

In September the contractor is working toward finishing the project. This includes:

• Finalizing the planters between Lincoln Road and Lincoln Lane South
• Reconstructing the crosswalk at Lincoln Lane North
• Build out of the seating steps and planters
• Work at the intersection of Drexel Avenue and 16 Street

Crews are currently constructing the crosswalk at the Lincoln Lane North and Drexel Avenue intersection. After completing the crosswalk the contractor will repave portions of Lincoln Lane North related to this work. The reconstruction of the crosswalk will take about one week to complete.

The contractor is installing the circular planters located between Lincoln Road and Lincoln Lane South near the roundabout. This work includes landscape, irrigation, lighting, curb and furniture installation. The seating steps and planters around the new electrical room on Lincoln Road also remain to be completed.



For the work on 16 Street at Drexel Avenue the contractor is installing traffic signals, new curbs, precast pavers, landscaping and planters. Upon completion of this work, the intersection of Drexel and 16 Street will be paved.

Timeline

All of these items will be constructed throughout September. The contractor will work weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. as well as occasionally on weekends.

Please note schedules may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

Lincoln Lane North will be closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and Washington Avenue to complete the crosswalk. Local traffic will be accessible up to just south of the Drexel Avenue intersection. During construction deliveries and garbage pickup for businesses east of the intersection will be coordinated with the project team for service. Both sidewalks along Lincoln Lane North will remain open for trolley and delivery access. Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained throughout all the work. Both pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained for the 1661 Pennsylvania Avenue garage.
