West Avenue Phase 2
Neighborhood Enhancements
Project Update sent: December 15, 2021
Project Overview and Benefits
The West Avenue Neighborhood Project is crucial to ensuring your neighborhood stays dry and remains a walkable, active community for years to come. These critical upgrades include underground infrastructure updates such as a new water main, sanitary sewer improvements, installation of a stormwater treatment system and raising the elevation of the roadway to minimize street flooding.

What's Happening
We wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy New Year. Below are some of the important items underway as we get closer to beginning construction:

  • Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022. The team is working to ensure all necessary permits are obtained prior to construction. A public meeting will be scheduled prior to the start of construction. (Please note, start date is dependent on final permit approvals.)

  • A Design Review Board (DRB) presentation is scheduled for Jan. 4, 2022. The team will be presenting the aesthetic plans for the stormwater treatment system and street-ends at the DRB meeting.

  • License agreement packages are being updated and distributed throughout the areas where construction is first expected to commence — along the Lincoln Road, Bay Road and Lincoln Court street-ends and along West Avenue between 8 and 9 streets. The team continues reaching out to property representatives to answer questions and conduct requested follow-up meetings.

  • Once all permits are in hand, the design-builder will begin construction on the stormwater treatment system within the parking lot (P24) next to the Post Office at 1671 West Ave. Reminder: The parking lot will remain closed pending the completion of the stormwater treatment system.
