FOXCONN'S HIGHER EDUCATION
PRESENCE ONLY DEEPENING
On October 30, the Milwaukee Business Journal hosted a higher education roundtable with leaders from colleges and universities around the state. Nearly all of the leaders reported having had conversations with Foxconn Technology Group. They also reported that, over the last year, those conversations have deepened.

“A lot of people around the table have had conversations they wouldn’t have imagined a few years ago,” said George MacKinnon, dean of the Medical College of Wisconsin’s pharmacy school. “It’s a catalyst of collaboration that has really brought the education community together.”

STATEMENT ON FORWARD MOMENTUM
Last week, Mount Pleasant Village President David DeGroot, Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave and RCEDC Executive Director Jenny Trick issued the following statement regarding the forward momentum of the Foxconn Project in the Village of Mount Pleasant:

"We have seen tremendous progress in Racine County as a result of Foxconn's investment, including new jobs and business for local companies , increased opportunities for area residents who have been connected with employment and training opportunities and the announcement of significant new developments .

We congratulate Governor-elect Evers and look forward to working with him and the incoming administration to ensure that we continue to maximize the benefits of this transformational project for our entire community ."

ELECTION OF TONY EVERS
Foxconn Technology Group recently issued the following statement on the election of Tony Evers as Governor of the State of Wisconsin:

RACINE COUNTY, FOXCONN LEADERS SPEAK AT SUMMIT ON REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS
On October 29, Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave , RCEDC Executive Director Jenny Trick , Gateway Technical College President Bryan Albrecht and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone spoke as part of a panel at the Alliance for Regional Development 's sixth annual Summit on Regional Competitiveness .

The leaders shared insights gained throughout the Foxconn development process, plans for partnerships between higher education institutions and businesses, workforce training initiatives and intergovernmental cooperation.

Earlier that morning, Marquette University President Dr. Michael Lovell hosted a conversation with Foxconn's Dr. Louis Woo regarding the Company's future as a corporate neighbor in our Wisconsin community. Lovell and Woo discussed the extensive Foxconn supply chain, the new AI 8K+5G ecosystem Foxconn is establishing, and what this will mean for research, development and innovation.

FOXCONN AND WEDC PARTNER TO SHOWCASE WISCONSIN COMPANIES AT THE FIRST CHINA INTERNATIONAL EXPO
Foxconn Technology Group and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) have partnered to support the participation of ten innovative Wisconsin companies in the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) , a major global business development initiative that took place from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai. The partnership is in line with Foxconn’s commitment to the state of Wisconsin and the WEDC’s commitment to supporting the growth of Wisconsin businesses.

The Wisconsin firms were featured as part of Foxconn Innovation Pavilion under its “Smart Future” theme. Their specialties include water technology, advanced machinery, healthcare, and smart city applications. The 5,300-square-foot exhibition area hosted these Wisconsin companies and those operating within Foxconn’s international brand portfolio.

“We are glad to partner with WEDC as we work to help transform Wisconsin into a global high-tech hub through our presence throughout the state,” said Dr. Louis Woo, Special Assistant to Foxconn CEO Terry Gou.
