FOXCONN: WE ARE COMMITTED TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
In Sunday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel , Louis Woo, special assistant to Foxconn Technology Group's chief executive officer, reiterated the company's commitment to environmental sustainability ahead of this week's public hearing on Foxconn air permits:

"As a responsible corporate citizen, Foxconn is fully committed to complying with all the laws and regulations that apply to our operations ," said Woo.

"In line with this commitment, we will use the best available control technology to limit air emissions from the plant and to minimize any potential negative impacts of our facilities on ambient air, including the ozone standard."

DEGROOT: FOXCONN HELD TO SAME STANDARDS FOR WATER, WASTEWATER, AIR PERMITTING AS OTHER INDUSTRIAL USERS
Mount Pleasant Village President David DeGroot addressed the air and water permitting processes for industrial users, like Foxconn, in the Racine Journal Times :

"Foxconn's advanced manufacturing campus in Mount Pleasant will be transformational for our c ommunity – creating new jobs and new tax base for our residents and enhanced economic opportunities for the entire state. At the same time, we must ensure that the project is environmentally sustainable, protecting the air we breathe and the water we drink," said DeGroot. "That's why I'm pleased that Foxconn is being held to the exact same rigorous standards for water, wastewater and air permits as every other industrial user in our community."

DNR TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING, PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ON FOXCONN AIR PERMITS
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking public comment on  air permit drafts  for the Foxconn liquid crystal display manufacturing facility proposed for construction in Racine County.

The DNR will hold a public hearing on  Tuesday, April 3  at the SC Johnson iMet Center (2320 Renaissance Boulevard). Beginning at 6 p.m. the public may meet with DNR staff to ask questions about the project and the air permit review process prior to the formal public hearing at 7 p.m.

Public comments will be accepted through April 16, 2018 .
