Company acquires downtown Madison property
In an expansion of its presence around the Badger state, Foxconn announced last week the acquisition of a landmark property at 1 West Main Street in downtown Madison, continuing the growth of its network of Wisconn Valley Innovation Centers.

“The purchase of One West Main furthers Foxconn’s commitment to foster and retain regional talent, and build technical capabilities in South Central Wisconsin and across the entire state of Wisconsin, “ said Dr. Alan Yeung, Foxconn Director of U.S. Strategic Initiatives.

The building will be renamed Foxconn Place Madison and will serve to connect the University of Wisconsin-Madison and regional suppliers and partners with the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park and other Foxconn facilities in Wisconsin.

INFORMATION SESSIONS
Additional sessions scheduled in Eau Claire, Green Bay
On Wednesday, April 3, Gilbane | Exyte held an information session at Gateway Technical College’s SC Johnson iMET Center in Sturtevant to provide details about future BID packages and information about how contractors can participate in work related to construction projects for the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park in the Village of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.

A session was also held in Madison, with a dditional sessions scheduled for:
  • April 17 at the Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire
  • April 18 at the Northwest Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay

WISCONN VALLEY WAY
Medford-based James Peterson and Sons awarded $16.9 million contract
Recently, Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Racine County and Village of Mount Pleasant officials announced that the Wisconn Valley Way road construction project will begin the week of April 15, weather permitting. 

Officials have also announced that Medford-based contractor James Peterson and Sons was awarded a $16.9 million contract to conduct the work. The new road will be open to traffic by the end of 2019, with various work finishing in 2020.

UPCOMING MEETINGS / EVENTS

On April 16 , WisDOT will host a Wisconn Valley construction update open house from 4:30 - 6:30 at Oak Creek Library (8040 S. 6th Street).

On April 17 , WEDC and Gilbane | Exyte will hold an information session for construction-related businesses in Eau Claire at Chippewa Valley Technical College (2320 Alpine Road) from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

On April 18 , WEDC and Gilbane | Exyte will hold an information session for construction-related businesses in Green Bay at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (2740 W. Mason Street) from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

On May 20 , Village of Mount Pleasant officials and project partners will host a monthly Foxconn Project Briefing at 6:00 p.m. in Ebe Auditorium at Mount Pleasant Village Hall (8811 Campus Drive, Mount Pleasant). The meeting will be live streamed on the Village's Facebook page .
