Member Spotlight
Meet Lee Kernen, Project W's Sponsorship Chair
Lee Kernen serves as Project W’s Sponsorship Chair. Lee worked in the software industry for a number of years after college and decided to stay home and care for her children once they were born. During that time, Lee also spent a lot of it volunteering for various local organizations. A few of the organizations she regularly supports are Planned Parenthood, American Diabetes Association, Knowledge is Power Philadelphia, Mighty Writers, and her local library. Lee also obtained her real estate license about twelve years ago and works for Berkshire Hathaway in Media, PA. She really loves being a realtor and helping people achieve their dream of owning a home.

In her spare time, Lee enjoys anything active. She is an avid tennis player, plays at several clubs in the area and is part of the USTA. She also enjoys paddle tennis, yoga, and working out. Hiking has been a newfound pandemic hobby with her husband, and they have visited several state parks and portions of the Appalachian Trail this past year.

Lee joined Project W to make a difference in the lives of women in her own community. She was very moved by the hands-on volunteer work that took place prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, and cannot wait to resume that and more in-person events with our members.
“I LOVED the idea of being able to decide who gets the grant and learning so much about the organizations during the review process.”
