Introducing the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access Committee - DEIA
The purpose of this committee is to raise awareness through shared conversations and education on the current and important topics of social justice and equity while supporting Project W’s mission.
The committee will be hosting a series of conversations on various topics related to DEIA. The goal of the “Shared Conversations Series” is to create a safe and relaxed environment where friends can come together over a glass of wine to discuss the critical topics of social justice and equity.
The topic of our first discussion is “Defining Social Justice & Equity." It will be held on Tuesday October 26th via Zoom from 7:00pm-8:15pm. Bring your own beverage and your willingness to share your thoughts and ideas and participate in collective learning. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE!

Stay Tuned for Volunteering Opportunity
On Tuesday, November 2nd, we are planning a volunteer project to do fall cleanup at the residences of those receiving services from Senior Community Services. A separate email will be sent with more details.
Let’s take a moment to get to know our new DEIA Chairs, Donna Maple and Ariadne Rodriguez Petrucelli.
Donna is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, she held several positions in property management. Donna joined Project W as a way to give back to the community and work alongside women that are just as passionate about using their resources to help the less fortunate. Outside of Project W, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and enjoys being a part of this organization filled with strong, powerful, and uplifting women. In her free time, Donna enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and playing tennis.
“There’s nothing like witnessing the impact of what we can accomplish as a group.”

Ariadne worked as an engineer for General Electric in both the Turbine and Aerospace Divisions. After obtaining her MS in Engineering and her MBA, she transitioned career paths and spent time traveling the world working in business development. Ariadne is very proud of her cross-cultural and cross-functional team building experiences. She joined Project W because she loved the opportunity of being part of such a special organization and being able to make an impact on the community. Along with Project W, Ariadne has been involved with Girl Scouts of America, Operation Smile, Smile Train and the Episcopal Academy's DEI Committee. She enjoys spending time with family, volunteering with her therapy dogs, traveling, cooking, blogging, and staying active with running, skiing, and yoga.
“One of the most impactful things from my experience with Project W is seeing the amazing things that great women working together can accomplish.”
