Alongside- and in many ways related to National Adolescent Health Month- May also celebrates #SexEdForAll Month! Sex education gives young people age-appropriate, medically accurate information and answers to their questions about sex and relationships. It has been proven to positively impact young people’s lives. But too many adolescents don’t have access to Sex Ed, or programs in their school are shaming or inaccurate. Through the #SexEdForAll campaign, you too can raise awareness and call for a real investment in Sex Ed for ALL.

As a way to learn more about #SexEdForAll, we recommend the book Kisses, Condoms and Consent. It is an easy-to-read and radically inclusive guide to middle schooler's sex ed questions. If you purchase the book through Amazon Smile, a portion of the purchase will be donated to AFHP :) AFHP was recently awarded a $300,000 grant from ADHS that focuses on decreasing Chlamydia (CT), Gonorrhea (GC) and Syphilis infections through increased screening, timely treatment and education. CT/GC screenings focus on females 24 and younger, with Syphilis screening for all clients 34 and younger. This month, TEN more health centers began the Adolescent Champion Model to create youth-friendly healthcare environments. Welcome to the following Future Champions!
