An App for Science Class
Download a powerful science lab
Google's Science Journal app brings STEM measuring capabilities to smart phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. With the app installed, students can use sensors already on their devices to conduct experiments and gather data. For example, the built-in microphone can be used as a decibel meter in a project involving sound. Students can also write and store project notes in the app.

Science Buddies has added support for the free app to 20 projects and 5 lesson plans. Browse our Science Journal app-ready projects, download the app, and start measuring light, sound, movement, and more!

The Science Journal app is available for both iOS and Android.
Science Buddies is proud to be a partner of Google's Making & Science initiative.
Student Science for Diabetes Awareness Month
Understanding diabetes, blood glucose, and insulin
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), diabetes affects more than 9% of the U.S. population. The Diabetes Science area at Science Buddies gathers resources in one central spot to help students explore questions about diabetes with hands-on experiments.
To support student exploration of diabetes science, Science Buddies has relevant projects in a wide range of STEM areas, including food science, biomedical engineering, and computer science. For more information, see Fostering Diabetes Awareness through Student STEM.
Science Buddies' project ideas and resources in the area of diabetes education are sponsored by Novo Nordisk.
