Recently, the City Council approved the agreement for a public art installation outside of the new municipal courts building on Couch Drive.
The art was selected from among 43 submissions. The artist, Krivanek + Breaux/Art + Design, will create a series of sculptures with inscriptions that symbolize the significance of the municipal court in our network of social values, needs and conflicts. The sculptures will be installed in approximately five months.
Public art increases publicity for the city, tourism and leasing interest--resulting in faster growing economies. One of the best outcomes of public art is that it creates an attachment to the community, inspiring people to put down roots and live here.
