ANOTHER GREAT PROM EVENT!

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2nd Annual Pro m- a 21+ event on Saturday, May 4 at the Lagunitas Community Room in Portland. The dance floor was hopping thanks to the work of DJ Royal and a good t ime was had by all. There was plenty of sparkle and even a few corsages to complete the night. In addition to raising funds for the Abby's Closet Prom Dress Giveaway, the event offers us the chance to promote our organization and introduce new faces to our mission and cause.

A big thank you to Lagunitas for supplying the event space and the beer, Stoller Vineyards for the wine, our amazing volunteers that night that helped make the event run smoothly, and last but not least, the incredible PROM committee that made the night happen.

A GENEROUS GIFT

Shelly Brown received The Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors (PMAR) Good Neighbor Award for her volunteerism in the community, including her volunteer work with Abby's Closet. Shelly volunteers annually at the giveaway event (and especially loves helping at the Special Needs event). Her company, Eleete Real Estate, is a donation drop-off site, and Shelly also served on this year's "Dream Team" who selected the Dreams Scholarship winner. Along with the award, Shelly received a check for $1,000 from PMAR to donate to the charity of her choice. Shelly designated Abby's Closet as the recipient!! We are so very appreciative to be recognized and for this generous donation.
