Reaping the Fruit of Hard Work
“Mama Lucy” is doing an amazing job training
our young girls in South Sudan to be excellent cooks and homemakers. Here they are making bread in
their “oven” over rocks and an open flame.
Every child has a part to play around the Children's
Home… helping to cook, digging in the
gardens, bringing water from the well,
sweeping the compound and washing the
dishes and clothes. When the children are first
brought to the home, many of them have no
basic knowledge of how to bathe or take care of
themselves. Charles and Lucy who serve as
“father and mother” to the kids, give them not
only spiritual training, but also basic life skills by
instilling in them what it means to serve and work
together as a family.
Last year our kids from the Children’s Home were being harassed by drunk men at the local well. We prayed about installing a well on our compound and the Lord provided through your support for that need. What a difference water and time can make! As we visited this year, the kids were so excited and proud to show
us all the crops they had planted and watered by hand. The evidence of their hard work sprouted up all around us! Beans, okra, tomatoes, watermelon, cabbage, onions and maize corn grew in neat rows within the fenced compound. Not only do they now have a safe water source right in their backyard, but they are able to grow nutritious vegetables even through the dry season.
Promise of Hope House

In 2015, Promise Child began working with women in Uganda that have been through the most horrific experiences that one could imagine. By providing them a safe shelter, we can keep them from the terrors of human trafficking. We not only have an outreach program that is reaching girls on the street with God’s Word weekly, but our Promise of Hope House has a one-year discipleship program bringing these young ladies off of the street and caring for their every need. Most importantly, this one-year program is an internship that allows them to get grounded in the Word of God and serve within the body of Calvary Chapel Arua. Our past graduating students have continued in Christian education, gone through more extensive discipleship training, have been sent to job training, and many are in college being provided for through our Jeremiah Fund.
We have recently completed another Hope House and have brought in four new girls rescued from the street. Please pray that these girls will be healed from their past trauma as they are loved, cared for, and bathed in God's Word.

New Promise of Hope House
Encouraging Young Artists
Calvary Chapel NorthGrove is partnering with Crescent Baptist Church and Promise Child to offer a six month after school art class to low income children in the area who would not be given this opportunity otherwise. The children are also learning God's Word through Bible study.
Helping Children Learn
Much joy and happiness filled the hearts of children and caretakers as they started the new school year. Because of your support, they were blessed with new work books, pens, pencils; everything they need to be ready to learn.

Hearts and voices of thanks filled the sky from God’s provision for his children, for keeping them healthy, and for their good performance in school. Please pray for these children to continue to do well and remain healthy.
No Longer Forgotten

This story is from one of our workers in South East Asia:

"We have been serving in the leprosy colony for almost 5 years. One of the women (ama) in the colony has always kept a distance from us because of what we believe. She would always stay near her room but whenever we go there, we take her some cookies and some drinks outside her room. We always ask her how she is doing. I can tell she is not happy getting old. Finally, after years of continuous serving and being there at least once a month, the ama came out of her room on her veranda, stayed with the group and with emotion in her eyes said, 'thank you for remembering us, coming regularly to see us and for serving us.'

What a blessing God has bestowed on us. What more joy can we find than being able to make a difference in someone's life. Thank you Promise Child for continuous support in providing and helping us to help the forgotten and forsaken one. God is not done with her yet. We would appreciate your prayers for our old ama in the leprosy colony."
We have exciting news, Promise Child was featured on John Ankerberg's show focusing on God's working in the Bidi Bidi Refugee Camp in Northern Uganda and our partnership with Faith Comes By Hearing!! This episode is titled: God’s Word to the World - Series 4 - Part 3. Please take a few minutes to watch this powerful video and hear some wonderful updates from the field.
