Congratulations to Chris Morrill, City Manager of Roanoke, VA, who is set to take over as Executive Director of the Government Finance Officers' Association next month. Roanoke is a five-time All-America City, with a strong legacy of civic engagement. An example of Roanoke's work is the launch last month of an Office on Citizen Engagement, which will use social media to work with local residents. I'm sure that Chris will bring this same level of creativity and commitment to GFOA, which is one of our partners in helping cities achieve fiscal sustainability in a manner that engages local citizens.
