If you’ve read news stories this past year about COVID-19 vaccines in The Washington Post or The New York Times, for example, or have heard stories on NPR, the journalists’ reporting may well have been informed by input from a group of vaccine experts led by Georgetown infectious disease specialist Jesse Goodman, MD, MPH.
In a conversation with Georgetown’s nursing leaders, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, a distinguished nurse leader who represents Illinois' 14th Congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, shared her pride in being a nurse and gratitude towards nurses working through the pandemic.

Summer COVID-19 Testing For Those Coming to Campus
This summer, fully vaccinated students will get tested once a week, and fully vaccinated faculty and staff will get tested once a month, with the exception of fully vaccinated child care personnel, who will get tested once a week. In order to participate in this testing protocol, you must submit your COVID-19 vaccination documentation through the GU360 mobile app or website. Those not fully vaccinated must continue to adhere to the current COVID-19 testing protocol. Read more here.
Georgetown will celebrate the Class of 2021 during Commencement at Nationals Park on Monday, May 24. There will be one ceremony for all undergraduate schools and August 2021 graduates at 10:00 a.m., and a ceremony for graduate students at 5:00 p.m. The ceremonies will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. Students planning to attend Commencement in person must request tickets via this form by Monday, May 10, at 5:00 p.m. Read more about commencement here.
