Statehouse Visits
All IPGA members are encouraged to schedule visits with your legislators or their legislative aides in areas your company services. If you are not familiar with your legislators, you can search for them using your address by clicking here.
So that we may coordinate the visits, please contact the IPGA office with the time and names of legislators scheduled. This is a complimentary event. Please RSVP online before January 15, 2020 by clicking here.
FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse Website Experiencing Technical Issues
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse website experienced technical issues on January 6, making it difficult for some motor carriers to register. FMCSA required that employers of licensed commercial drivers register with the Clearinghouse by January 6, 2020. Due to the high traffic and activity on the Clearinghouse website, some employers spent hours attempting to register; others were unable to complete registration.  

FMCSA is aware of the technical issues on the Clearinghouse website and the impact on some employers. FMCSA published a notice on the Clearinghouse  website  acknowledging the technical issues, which is excerpted below.  

Notice : If you are an employer currently experiencing technical difficulties accessing the Clearinghouse and are unable to conduct required pre-employment queries, you may hire a driver using solely the procedures set forth in 49 CFR 391.23(e). Once FMCSA has determined and announced that users are able to access the Clearinghouse, pre-employment queries must also be conducted as required by section 382.701(a).

Employers should continue to review the Clearinghouse website for the most up to date information. NPGA encourages members who were unable to register to continue attempting the registration process. More information about the Clearinghouse is available  here . Indiana members are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting being hosted by PERC in Indianapolis. This is a great opportunity for marketers within the state association to learn more about PERC’s priorities, and contribute to the development of initiatives and programs.
