From May to September, the Health Department's Lakes Management Unit samples Lake Michigan beaches 4 days a week. Beaches on inland lakes are tested biweekly. The water samples are tested for E coli bacteria, which are found in the intestines of almost all warm-blooded animals. While not all strains of E coli are the same, certain strains can make humans sick if ingested in high enough concentrations. Click here to see the status of the beaches

A significant change will soon take place at the Secretary of State's office. The change will improve upon the design and issuing process of Illinois' driver's licenses/ID cards.
Applicants who visit Driver Services facilities will no longer be issued a new permanent driver’s license or ID card at the end of the application process. Instead, they will leave the facility with a temporary secure paper driver's license which is valid for 45 days. After fraud checks have been conducted to ensure the applicant's identity, a higher quality, more secure driver’s license or ID will be printed and sent via U.S. mail within 15 business days to the applicant's address. Park On Park Cruise Night Schedule
- MAY 11
- JUNE 8
- JULY 13
- AUGUST 10
- SEPTEMBER 14
The cruise night specializes in pre-1977 vehicles only. By limiting attendants to classic cars, the event draws some of the finest vehicles in the area. We offer an organized event that has something for owners and spectators alike. This will be the 16th year of our event. None of this would be possible without the continued support of our sponsors and the support of the Village of Mundelein.

If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues. You can drop them off in the bin on our front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.
We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled. If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.
