PropertyGuys.com Welcomes New Franchisee in Moncton, NB
Rhonda LeBlanc was so impressed with PropertyGuys.com as a home seller, she "bought" the company!

Rhonda LeBlanc says that while she hadn’t necessarily envisioned going into business for herself as a PropertyGuys.com franchisee, she has nothing in the way of regrets. In fact, it was her experience as a PropertyGuys.com client that initially sold her on the fact this wasn’t a run-of-the-mill kind of business.

“I sold a property using PropertyGuys.com, which naturally put more money in my pocket as opposed to having gone the traditional real estate route,” she says.

Having secured the rights to the Moncton, New Brunswick territory, the home base of the company, is a thrilling prospect to LeBlanc, who acknowledges she still has much in the way to learn about the real estate business.

“I know the previous franchisee (Matt Weir) was very successful in the territory, but I also know I can’t take anything for granted. I have to learn to crawl before I work my way up to walking or running. But I’m looking forward to learning the ins and outs and finding a way to help grow the business further.”

What have been your initial impressions of PropertyGuys.com?
 
I’ve quickly discovered just how supportive the team is. I have the advantage of being located in the same city as home office, but as I’ve spoken to other franchise owners, I’ve discovered the company is just incredibly supportive of the entire team, no matter where you’re located. It’s really an all-for-one, one-for-all kind of atmosphere where people seem genuinely interested in helping one another.

Is it refreshing and reassuring coming into an environment like that?
 
What is refreshing to me is the fact it’s not your traditional sales business. There are no closely-guarded secrets among staff and no cut-throat sales tactics. Everyone has their territory and wants to share with others what they’ve learned that works well.
Tell us a bit about your previous professional experience prior to landing at PropertyGuys.com.
 
I was a top performing, multi-unit manager from 2000 onward, teaching people how to sell while also overseeing operations for a specific territory. So the move into Property Guys was very natural, in that respect. But the week before the pandemic hit, I lost my job with a retail company which had declared bankruptcy. I then went 20 months without a job, which was stressful, but during that time, I reached out to a realtor friend to ask about her experience in the industry, and I felt completely overwhelmed at the possibility of being one of hundreds of people vying for that same piece of cake. But then through another PropertyGuys.com franchise owner, Jeff Cormier, I discovered the Moncton territory was going to be available and that seemed to be more my style and speed. Of course, I knew the company as a hometown success story and felt confident that once I had the opportunity to learn the basics of the business, I’d be able to work for myself and do well.

In your view, both as a PropertyGuys.com client and now as a franchise owner, what advantages does the company have over more traditional real estate firms?
 
It all comes down to the cost savings, but also the services offered within our packages. A lot of people don’t really question listing their home through a traditional real estate listing where they’re paying out a 5% commission. With home prices on the rise, that 5% commission you’re paying out just keeps getting bigger and bigger, while we offer the same service for less than half the cost, on average.
