Route 20 Mountain View / UMED:

We’re proposing straightening the route alignment to stay on Bragaw Street. Currently, Route 20 turns off Bragaw Street and services Northway Drive. It is proposed that Route 20 remain on Bragaw Street between Debarr Road and Penland Parkway. This will improve on-time performance and get riders to their destinations faster. Additionally, it removes a turn that bus operators have identified as a safety concern at Penland Parkway.

Northway Drive will be serviced by the proposed realignment of Route 31.

Routes 21 Mountain View & 31 Northeast:

We’re proposing combining these routes to provide direct service between Muldoon and Mountain View. With many stores at Northway Mall closed, the route isn’t as helpful as it once was. There would no longer be service on 4  th   Avenue, 7 th  Avenue, and Klevin Street between Bragaw and Pine Streets. The busiest stop on this stretch of the route averaged no more than three (3) people boarding per day. A walk to either Pine or Bragaw Street is less than ¼ mile. It would also shift service from Bragaw Street to Northway Drive between Penland Parkway and San Jeronimo Drive. The route will still operate in a counterclockwise direction east of Pine Street.

It is also proposed that the route begin/end at Glenn Square instead of Northway Mall.

Route 85 Old Seward and 91 Huffman:

We’re proposing combining these routes to provide all-day and weekend service to areas south of Dimond Boulevard on Old Seward Highway. The route would terminate at the Huffman Business Park. The existing portion of Route 91 that extends south of Huffman Road to Oceanview Drive will be discontinued due to low ridership. No stop on this stretch averaged more than one (1) person boarding per day.

The proposed combined route will have service every 60 minutes, seven days a week. Currently, Route 91 only has service Monday – Friday during commute hours.

Improvements to service in South Anchorage were identified as priority numbers 2 and 11 for riders in Transit on the Move (TOTM) and continue to rank high in triannual Rider Survey feedback.

Route 92 in Anchorage:

We’re proposing discontinuing the Boniface Parkway Interchange stops and service on Boundary Avenue. These stops averaged no more than one (1) person boarding per day. Instead, we’re proposing to serve the VA Clinic and Tikahtnu Commons on Muldoon Road north of the Glenn Highway. This will also provide transfer opportunities to Route 25.

Route 92 in Eagle River:

We’re proposing a new alignment to serve the Hesterberg Road Park and Ride lot at the Eagle River Loop/Hiland Road freeway exit (near the Glenn Highway on-ramp). This expands the route to an underserved area of Eagle River with minimal increases to travel time and was identified as priority number 10 in TOTM (Project P).

Route 40 Spenard / Airport:

It is proposed that the start and end of this route will be at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Currently, it begins and ends at the Downtown Transit Center. This will allow for better transfers between Routes 65 and 40.

AnchorRIDES:

The core service area will be extended south along Old Seward Highway between Dimond Boulevard and Huffman Road to match the proposed extension of Route 85.
