Announce Virtual Town Hall
On Use Of Force Policy
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office plans to update the state’s Use-of-Force policy. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, and Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office are hosting a virtual town hall on Tuesday, July 28 at 5:30 p.m. to collect ideas and hear what changes the public feels is necessary to make the policy just and fair for all New Jersey residents and visitors.
 
The virtual town hall will include an information session to learn about the current policy followed by multiple opportunities to provide feedback on how you feel the policy should change. This meeting is a chance for all residents to directly provide input to influence changes to the Use-of-Force policy that all New Jersey law enforcement agencies adhere to.


Disaster Plan Update
Will Keep Hunterdon
Qualified For Federal Funds
Hunterdon County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan, which qualified the County for millions of dollars in FEMA funding in the past, will be updated to meet new federal requirements, under a contract approved by the Freeholder Board at the July 21 st meeting.  

Freeholder Board Director Shaun C. Van Doren stated, “The Hazard Mitigation Plan update, which is federally funded, is vital to the County’s and our property taxpayers’ ability to deal with the extraordinary costs associated with disasters, like the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.”

County Parks are open for passive recreational activities like walking/hiking, biking, and fishing. No picnicking, playground use, groups, or large gatherings. Parking remains limited to 50% in all locations. Please practice physical distancing of 6’ between non-household members, wear face coverings in busy areas, and consider a lesser-known park if your favorite is busy.

Work is continuing on the Earthen Dam Rehabilitation project at Round Valley. Each dam is in a different stage of construction or pre-construction.
