Welcome to the PHAmily,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your family to the Early Childhood Campus of Prospect Hill Academy. I very much look forward to getting to know you and your child/ren over the coming months and years.

I will be your child’s principal. While this will be my first year serving as Principal, I have worked at Prospect Hill Academy for 13 years, most recently as Vice Principal at the Early Childhood Campus. Together with my leadership team, I will work closely with students, families and teachers to ensure that all of our students grow and succeed to their potential. PHA is a very special place, where every student is known, cared for, and taught with both high expectations and differentiated teaching in mind. At the Early Childhood Campus, teaching and learning is grounded in our three campus values: Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Your Best. These very simple but essential values support a sense of community and frame all of the work at our campus on a daily basis.

My Assistant Principal Ms. Tabitha Redding and I understand that we have the awesome responsibility of educating PHA’s youngest learners and we take this responsibility very seriously. We truly believe that every one of our children can succeed and accomplish great things and will make amazing contributions to the world around them. We understand that it is our job to support them in every way possible so that they can realize their dreams and potential. We also support our students by working in close partnerships with their families, always keeping the identities of our children and their families at the forefront.

While school will almost certainly be different this coming year, here are just a few of the exciting things that your child can look forward to when they begin at our campus next September:
Creating a cultural museum in Kindergarten
Building models to demonstrate learning about animal defense systems in first grade
Creating an invention that will change the world in second grade
The Massachusetts Biography Project and Living Museum in third grade

We are excited to prepare for engaging, enriching, and challenging learning experience for our students albeit in a school environment that will differ from the ones we are used to. During these ever-changing times, we commit to keeping you abreast of Prospect Hill Academy's reopening structure as we receive further guidelines from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and are in a position to firm up our plans.

In the meantime, please join me and my leadership team in one of two scheduled virtual Welcome to New Families Zoom meeting (see details below).

I am so much looking forward to meeting you and your children and wish you all an enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

Tawanna Watts
Principal

Family Support at PHA
At PHA we recognize that the months since the COVID -19 school closure started were challenging for many of our families. As always, we have remained committed to supporting our students to ensure they are positioned to continue their learning from home. Below, please find some of the ways we have been able to support our families:
