Welcome from the Director of Enrollment

Greetings, Saint Joseph High School families,

I am honored to serve as your new Director of Enrollment and especially honored to return to Saint Joseph High School as an alumna. Even though the building is different from when I attended, the mission and spirit of Saint Joe continue to shine through: a community grounded in faith, excellence, and care for every student. It is a joy to return in this new role, helping future generations experience the same strong foundation that shaped me, while also embracing the opportunities that this chapter of Saint Joseph offers.

At Saint Joseph, our mission is rooted in transforming both hearts and minds. We are committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and helping every student grow into a compassionate, confident young person ready to share their unique gifts with the world. My hope is that through this monthly newsletter, you’ll catch a glimpse of the vibrant life of our school and the many opportunities that await your student.

This year promises to be filled with growth, connection, and new possibilities, and I am excited to be part of it with you.

This is the first of two dates offered for the HSPT. To RSVP, please complete the form here.

Do you want to practice for the HSPT? Here is a link to a practice test. This test is not affiliated with Saint Joe High School nor HSPT, but an aid to review and prepare to come take the test.

Happenings Around Saint Joe

The 2025-2026 school year is here! Welcome back, Huskies, let’s make it our best year yet!

Four of our students, Alice StockwellEllie BullockTulsi Patel, and Joey Harshman, presented their work at the RC3 Symposium last night, showcasing 8 weeks of summer research through the Harper Cancer Research Institute. We’re proud of their hard work and dedication in the fight against cancer!

Seniors Viet Luu and Jack Erdman both participated in summer research with the QuarkNet program at Notre Dame. Mr. Culver also participated in the program. He has participated in the summer research for the last three years.

Mr. Culver’s work involved running a Makers Conference the 2nd week of June where eight students from around the city made and programmed their own “Data Loggers.” Data Loggers are small Arduino based embedded systems used for monitoring various quantities in the environment. He then worked on Phase 2 of IUSB’s work with the Cities Tree Canopy Project. Particularly Mr. Culver worked on designing and testing battery systems for solar powering the new wireless capable Data Loggers.

We recently had four students, Landon ZalasAudrey ZielinskiAlex Choinacky, and Lia Bajuyo, participate in the Raclin Murphy Museum of art Summer Apprentice Program. Under the guidance of Notre Dame MFA student and educator, Alejandro Mejía Andrade, the students explored a variety of art-making processes, media and techniques, culminating in an exhibition with the theme of "Living Archive.”

Saint Joe Athletics Update

Girls Golf Starts Season on High Note

Girls Golf kicked off Week 1 with the Homestead Invitational at Chestnut Hills in Fort Wayne, where they faced a tougher start than hoped but still secured 6th place, with Marley Dunham earning an individual medal. On Tuesday at the Kingsmen Invitational at Knollwood in Granger, the team moved in the right direction, finishing 3rd behind Northridge and Penn, highlighted by Marley and Lucy Dunham tying for 5th overall. Wednesday’s New Prairie Invitational at Legacy Hills in LaPorte brought another 3rd-place finish, again trailing Northridge and Penn, with Lucy earning an individual medal on the challenging, hilly course. Thursday at the Northwood Invitational at McCormick Creek in Nappanee was the breakthrough, as the team took 1st place with an impressive 303, well ahead of Northridge and Penn. Marley shot a personal-best 68, including an Eagle on the 18th hole—on her 18th birthday—while Lucy carded an even-par 72 and the rest of the team posted scores in the 80s. This week the team played in the State Preview Tournament at Prairie View in Carmel, featuring top teams from last year’s State Finals and strong contenders for this year; the girls finished 8th, two spots better than last year’s Finals, with Lucy earning 3rd place overall as an individual.
