Welcome from the Director of Enrollment

“Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”Luke 12:48

The above scripture passage is a powerful reminder that much more is entrusted to us. With Thanksgiving a few short weeks away we can reflect on its true meaning and acknowledge the wonderful gifts of family, friends, and community. We, as disciples of Jesus, are responsible for looking beyond our own needs. As a Catholic educational community, we strive to model for each other the teachings of our Lord on a daily basis. The upcoming holiday season is rapidly approaching, and we can easily become overwhelmed by the urgency to meet expectations for the holidays. Let’s not forget to stop and give thanks for the many blessings we have in our lives. On behalf of our Saint Joe family, I extend to you and your

family a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Peace,

Sue Ushela

Important Dates for Prospective SJHS Families

Tuesday, Nov. 12: School Choice Informational Parent Meeting

6:30 p.m. Saint Joseph High School Black Box Theater

Event Entrance (St. Louis Blvd.)

Currently many of our Saint Joe families qualify for the Choice Scholarship, but why shouldn’t every family qualify? These are tax dollars allocated for education, but certain families don’t have access to them. My School Options is looking to advocate for a universal Choice Scholarship Program and remove the final barrier, the income requirement! To make this happen, we need your help! We are hosting a parent meeting and looking for parents to attend and share their story to help build teams of advocates to get Universal School Choice Across the Finish Line. Register here. To learn more about advocating contact Ely Page from My School Options by phone at 765-513-7947 or by email at ely.page@myschooloptions.org.

Saturday, Nov. 16: High School Placement Testing (HSPT)

8:30 a.m. - 12:00/12:30 p.m.

Doors Open 8:00 a.m., Event Entrance (St. Louis Blvd.)

Placement testing is a diocesan requirement and a part of the admissions process. All 8th grade students considering Saint Joseph High School are required to take the HSPT. The HSPT is a series of timed tests of verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading, mathematics and language skills. Additionally, we include an essay. HSPT test scores, along with recommendations from your child's current teachers, principal and/or counselor, help to place students in appropriate freshman classes. This is the first of two dates offered for the HSPT. To RSVP, please complete the form here.

Do you want to practice for the HSPT? Here is a link to a practice test. This test is not affiliated with Saint Joe High School nor HSPT, but an aid to review and prepare to come take the test.

Saturday, Dec. 7: High School Placement Testing Alternate Date

Students who cannot make the first placement test on November 16 may sign up to take the test on December 7.

Happenings Around Saint Joe

Fall Play Cast and Crew Members Shine on Stage

This year's fall play built upon the Theatre program’s legacy of educational and creative endeavors. With a large cast, they welcomed many students to the SJHS Theatre stage, including several freshmen making their debut. Mystery at Whimbowly Manor offered students an opportunity to develop characters through slapstick comedy, teaching both the challenges and rewards of physical humor and timing. Over its two-night run, nearly 400 students, family members, friends, and faculty came out to support the cast and crew, celebrating the hard work that brought this production to life. Congratulations to everyone involved! We look forward to seeing you all at auditions for the spring musical.

All Saints Day Festival Fun

Our All Saints Day Festival at Saint Joe was a day filled with faith and fellowship. Students came together in worship, with music led by The Vigil Project, lifting spirits high and setting a meaningful tone for the day. Throughout the day, students attended a variety of engaging breakout sessions and spent quality time with one another. The day concluded beautifully as our entire Saint Joe community gathered together for Mass. Thank you to Mrs. Baglow and everyone who participated and made the day special!
