Building Faith, Character, and Excellence
December 14, 2018
From the Director of Admissions
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed . Matthew 2:10

Advent, a time of hope, peace, and goodwill, is upon us. The wonderful time of year when we wait in joyful hope of the birth of Jesus.  A happy time, an anxious period, but the season of hope is a time for renewed faith and hope.

At this time of Advent as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord, we remain focused on our faith inherent in our daily lives in the Saint Joseph community where we strive to create an inviting atmosphere to grow in faith through a liturgical life creating an environment of mutual respect, compassion, and love.

May you remained focused in your daily life with quiet time to reflect and prepare for the birth of our Lord. During this Season of Hope, I extend on behalf of our Saint Joe family to you and your family a blessed Christmas Season.

Sincerely,

Sue Ushela

Spirit Club Decorates Tree for
"Downtown for the Holidays"
Saint Joseph High School is participating in Downtown South Bend's Festival of Trees. Our tree is located on the northwest corner of Michigan and Jefferson, and was decorated by the Spirit Club. If you are downtown between now and Christmas, be sure to stop for a picture next to the Saint Joseph tree.

In service to members of our community, our tree is decorated with mittens and personal care items. If you notice the tree looking a little empty, just let us know, and we will restock the gifts.

Finally, if you wish to participate in the Festival of Trees 2018 voting contest, please visit  DTSB's Facebook page (@downtownsouthbend)  . To vote for our tree, simply "like" our picture in the Festival of Trees 2018 album. Voting is open through December 24.

Girls' Swimming is heating up the pool with the tear they have been on lately. The squad won the 2018 Munster Relays, winning all but two events. They have also won duals convincingly against Riley, New Prairie, Adams, Marian, and Mishawaka. Most recently the ladies dominated the South Bend City Championships, winning all but one event en route to a 201 point victory over second-place Riley. Saint Joe took the top two spots in six events, and of those six took top three in four of them. Check out the South Bend Tribune's recap of the event!
