NVCT has a time-critical opportunity to purchase and permanently protect the "Accokeek Bottomlands," a 52-acre parcel in Stafford County that is comprised of high-value wetlands and hardwood forests.


This unique property is directly adjacent to the Crow's Nest Natural Area Preserve. It falls within three categories of the state's conservation planning prioritization - Natural Habitat and Ecosystem Diversity, Protected Landscapes Resilience, and Floodplains and Flooding Resilience.

Economic growth in this area is twice the national average, and with development pressures mounting, we cannot afford to miss such a rare opportunity to expand the Crow's Nest Natural Area Preserve.
