A Message from Mary Anne

Dear Clients and Friends,

Happy August!

I’m starting to see many of our children already going back to school. As I think about my boys when they were young, it was such a fun time.

Going to the store to buy the “book bags” and some new school clothes and shoes. Having serious discussions about if we “really needed” the most expensive, cool Nike shoes!

Finding after school care that was dependable, and making sure they were enrolled in the programs that were most important for each of their unique abilities to enable them to thrive in the school environment.

I remember those days fondly...

Life goes on, and here we are focusing in this issue of the newsletter and our next Parent University on Retiring for 3. Yes I said “3”. When we have a family member with special needs, our retirement spans not just our own life time, but the next generation as well. There are so many nuances and we want to continue to give you some new ideas to think about.

Have a great wrap up of the summer,  as we walk together through the last vacation days, beach weekends, and getting the last wonderful fruits and vegetables at our local Farmers’ Markets.

Enjoy!

Mary Anne

Parent University

Retirement is the goal... how do we achieve it in light of our loved one with special needs?

We receive many questions surrounding the topic of retirement, let's discuss doing it securely!

Retirement usually is a goal, right? We might love what we do, but the goal to retire securely and find that security to do so is usually a goal of our own planning.

Let's discuss some common questions, such as: When should we take Social Security? If we move, what has to change? Do we need to update our estate planning documents? If our child moves with us, what happens to their benefits? Is a retirement plan just about money? What are we retiring TO?

If you'd like the information, but can’t attend, register for the session and we’ll provide you with a link to the recorded video after the class.

For Zoom security, when you register, you’ll receive an email with a link to the class and a passcode, which you’ll be asked to enter when you log on. (To avoid disruption, we'll close the class at 12:05. If you’re late, you'll be able to watch the video later.)
