A Message from Mary Anne

Dear Clients and Friends,

July has so many meaningful times to celebrate!  I know we all enjoy the time with friends, but I reflect now on why July is so special.

  • The 4th of July/Independence Day. This reminds us of the important of independence, as we remember those before us who fought for important rights that we have today.  The 4th of July celebrates the values of liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness, which are central to the founding principles of the United States.

  • July is also Disability Pride Month. Many people with disabilities still face barriers to being fully included and valued.  Ableism is often ignored, but its effects are real. It limits access to education, jobs, health care, and respect. Disability Pride Month challenges that. At its core, Disability Pride is about being accepted on our own terms. It says disability is not something to hide or fix—it’s part of who we are. Everyone deserves inclusion, rights, and respect, without having to earn them.

For us here at Protected Tomorrows, we are proud to help individuals with disabilities be safe, happy and as independent as they can be.  We love working with their families to find the peace of mind that we all wish for.  I hope you enjoy the articles below and I look forward to seeing you Parent University on Thursday, July 10th.

Warmest regards,

Mary Anne

How is All My Planning Going to Come Together After I Die?

Creating Confidence in Knowing Your Plan is Handled Properly... After We Are Gone Peace of Mind

We will speak with current Protected Tomorrows Family Members about their experience with loss and handling the responsibility of becoming a trustee, executor, guardian, and care taker for their special needs loved one. We will walk thru an estate and financial plan and learn how it is “activated”. Who does what, who knows where everything is, and how can we make sure the family knows what to do? It is not fun to think about, but it is certainly an important topic that we all need to make sure we understand.

If you'd like the information, but can’t attend, register for the session and we’ll provide you with a link to the recorded video after the class.

For Zoom security, when you register, you’ll receive an email with a link to the class and a passcode, which you’ll be asked to enter when you log on. (To avoid disruption, we'll close the class at 12:05. If you’re late, you'll be able to watch the video later.)
