A Message from Mary Anne

Dear Clients and Friends,

Well, in most areas,  the school year is over, and summer vacations have begun! I hope you were able to glean a few ideas from our last Parent University class on vacations. I’d love to hear if you decide to participate in any of the programs presented.

We're mid-year and a little vacation time provides an opportunity to look back and check on our progress. As I look back to 1990, when we first started our work here at Protected Tomorrows,  our planning and lives were just a tad simpler;  well, actually simpler, but still complex. Special needs trusts were new; government benefits were confusing and complex, and finding the right services was a challenge. Since then, benefits have changed;  there are 2 kinds of special needs trusts (not just one), and ABLE accounts came into the picture. Some things have improved, some waiting lists got shorter, and some got longer.

This month we hope to help you understand all of the tools now available to us. Someone said to me the other day, “Wow, this stuff isn’t for the meek and mild!” Understanding one area at a time is important and then tying it all together is even more important. If you have ever done a complex puzzle, you open the box and there are perhaps 500 pieces. You have to go back to look at the box cover to see what you want to create with those 500 pieces, and each piece plays a part in our success in the final product.

My wish for you is that you can learn a little about each piece and think about what you need to do with all of those tools, to make your family member’s life better.  I look forward to seeing you at our next class on June 12th

In the meantime, do take that vacation or break, even if it's just to walk around the garden to smell the roses.

Warmest regards,

Mary Anne

"The Many Tools for Financial Peace of Mind Creation. What to use When? - Clarity Peace of Mind."

The world of Special Needs Planning gets more complex as we add more tools...

Creating Clarity Peace of Mind for your Financial Planning.

Special needs planning is complex, and the planning gets increasingly convoluted as we have more tools. We want to do it right – we have good intentions. But using the great new tool at the wrong time can have unintended consequences. Let’s learn how to use the tools right, incorporating government benefits, special needs trusts, the ABLE account, and private funding at the right time in the right place in our plan.

If you'd like the information, but can’t attend, register for the session and we’ll provide you with a link to the recorded video after the class.

For Zoom security, when you register, you’ll receive an email with a link to the class and a passcode, which you’ll be asked to enter when you log on. (To avoid disruption, we'll close the class at 12:05. If you’re late, you'll be able to watch the video later.)
